This is a directory of Animal Rescuers throughout Tennessee.  You may view listings in Pet type order.  Please keep in mind that some of these rescue are listed under their mailing address only.  This does not mean that they are necessarily located in that city.  If you can not find the listing under a heading, try searching under a different  heading.  Also, look under pet shelters, which is listed in alpha order by city.  For more information on any of the rescues listed here, please contact the rescue directly.    If you don't find the breed you are looking for, try contacting several of the rescue groups and ask them where you can find the breed you are looking for.  Most likely, somebody will be able to help you.

Murfreesboro, TN Almost Home Animal Rescue of Rutherford County - Almost Home was formed by a volunteer who had worked previously under the Animal Relief Fund, an all breed dog rescue based in Williamson County. She saw an URGENT need for a rescue centered around the needs of unwanted pets in Rutherford County, particularly those at our local shelter, Rutherford County PAWS.  Volunteers needed!!

Oak Ridge, TN Shelter Animal Rescue Group - (SARG) is based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Parrots R Forever - Parrots-R-4Ever Avian Rescue Rescue and Sanctuary is located in Huntsville, Alabama and provides rescue, shelter, adoption, and sanctuary for unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused parrots and smaller pet birds in North Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia.  

Phoenix Landing - is a non-profit all-volunteer organization. We promote and protect the welfare of parrots, especially those with an extensive lifespan.  Phoenix Landing operates an adoption and foster program in the Washington D.C. region (Baltimore to Richmond), as well as North Carolina (Asheville, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham areas). Breed Order: Dog rescue groups are in breed order from this point down.  If you don't find the breed you are looking for, try contacting several of the rescue groups and animal shelters and ask them where you can find the breed you are looking for.  Most likely, somebody will be able to help you.  Some rescues will rescue other breeds other than what they specialize in.  So tell them, what your looking for and see if they can find that breed through their network of connections.  You may also try our Dog Breed Rescue page.  

Airedale Rescue Group - We focus on rescue in the southern United States. Specifically we cover Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North and South Carolina and assist in neighboring states.  

American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc - We are an all-volunteer nationwide American Eskimo dog rescue organization with chapters in many states throughout the country, and we are always adding more. SOS Beagle Rescue Our chapters are currently located in both New Jersey and Tennessee.  We do not, however, have an actual shelter or facility for you to visit in New Jersey. All of our beagles are in foster care or with their owners.

Chihuahua Rescue USA -  We are an all-volunteer rescue, transport, foster and adoption group. It is our belief that irresponsible breeding of animals for profit is unethical and seek to encourage potential pet guardians to consider adoption as their first choice in selecting a loving canine addition to their family.  Chihuahua Rescue focuses on the mid-west region of the United States which includes Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee.

Magnolia Irish Setter Rescue - Magnolia Setter Rescue works in conjunction with the Florida All-Setter Rescue. Labrador Retriever Rescue of East Tennessee -  is a non-profit organization that rescues and places purebred Labrador Retrievers and exceptional mixes. We are a group of volunteers with the goals of educating the public and assisting the needy Labradors whose path we cross.
