GAP Dogs - Texas Animal Shelter Coalition - We are a group of municipal and private animal shelters who have come together for the benefit of the animals!  We provide professional training classes at no or low cost.  All of our training classes are open to anyone interested.   GAP, the Gifted Animal Program, is an innovative program of the North Central Texas Animal Shelter Coalition. The idea is to train animal shelter attendants and volunteers to recognize potential service and special use dogs. Service dogs include dogs for drug and bomb detection, search and rescue, therapy, physical assistance for the disabled plus others. Special use dogs include canine sports like agility, dance, flying disc and flyball. There are lots of people looking for gifted dogs.

Cowtown Loves Animal Shelter Pets - C.L.A.S.P. is a new non-profit organization with a sole mission to be the voice of the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Center, on matters of animal welfare in our community.  The shelter is home to more than 20,000 lost or homeless animals each year and no more than 30 percent of these animals ever find a home.

File a lost pet report with every shelter within a 60-mile radius of your home and visit the nearest shelters daily, if possible.  When searching for a lost companion animal, check all animal shelters in your area daily, in person. A phone call is not sufficient.   Also, visit our Lost & Found webpage and view more great websites that have listings of lost and found pets.

Each year, in this country alone, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed because there are not enough homes for them all.
