Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day
70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there
will never be enough homes for all the animals. Each year, in this country
alone, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed because there are
not enough homes for them all. An estimated 15 million dogs and cats must be
killed each year in this country because no one wants them. They are abandoned,
abused, neglected, and unknown by many people. Many people don't
