Rescue Network Organization - The PetHobbyist family of web communities, and its staff, volunteers, users, and sponsors, support the responsible and ethical rescue of all kinds of animals: companion animals, working animals, and wildlife.

PGAA Rescue contacts - Provides dog and other pet rescue and adoption contacts in Idaho.  

Northern Idaho Animal Rescue - An independent foster. Pictures of available dogs and cats, adoption application, and photographs of other pets. Based in Lewiston.  

PAWS for Life Inc - We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.  We help reduce the pet overpopulation with our spay and neuter program.

Shoshone Pet Rescue - is an all volunteer organization which adopts out about 200 dogs a year.  Donations needed!!

Birds - Avian Rescuers    

Bird Adoption Groups  - BirdAdoption.org - Bird Adoption - Adopt a parrot or another captive bird instead of contributing to the homeless bird problem by buying from a breeder. Educate yourself on proper bird care BEFORE adopting a bird. They make difficult, demanding 'pets' because they are wild animals!

Breed Order: Dog rescue groups are in breed order from this point down.  If you don't find the breed you are looking for, try contacting several of the rescue groups and animal shelters and ask them where you can find the breed you are looking for.  Most likely, somebody will be able to help you.  Some rescues will rescue other breeds other than what they specialize in.  So tell them, what your looking for and see if they can find that breed through their network of connections.

Northwest Doberman Rescue - Although we are based in Centralia, Washington, our foster homes are located in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. NWDR is listed for rescue in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, to help Dobermans in need in these states. We have placed Dobermans as far away as Montana.  Donations and Foster homes needed!!

English Bulldog Rescue and Adoption - The Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network (BCARN) has volunteers working throughout the US and some in Canada.

Companion Golden Retriever Rescue - We work to place loving Golden Retrievers into permanent homes. Southern Star Miniature Pincher Rescue, Inc   - Southern Star MinPin Rescue, Inc. (SSMPR) is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Miniature Pinschers (minpins) of all ages. Upon entering our care, each Miniature Pincher is evaluated for general health and updated on vaccinations. Ferrets    

Don't forget to check your local shelter.  Sometimes they get ferrets in that need a loving home.

Ferret Haven Rescue Shelter - is a non-profit facility that will accept and care for ferrets that are unwanted, lost/found, elderly or for any other reason that the ferret is not wanted as a pet.    Phone: 208-342-2966  

Filer Ferret Rescue - A Ferret Rescue Shelter located in south central Idaho. We accept unwanted and abandoned ferrets and have available ferrets for adoption to loving homes. We need donations of ferret feed, litter and supplies and or the funds to pay for these items. Ferrets are wonderful loving little animals and make great pets.

Emmett Ferret Shelter -  is a 501(c)3, Federal non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Emmett, ID.  Although we are located in Emmett, we rescue ferrets from all over Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho, including Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Meridian, Caldwell, McCall, Homedale, Weiser and many other cities.
