Please research the breed before you buy or adopt, you'll be glad you did!  All domestic birds, cats, dogs, ferrets, horses, rabbits and more have a story to tell. Please give them the time that they deserve. They didn't ask to be left behind.  They are looking for that forever loving  home.   Help the pet overpopulation, animal shelters and rescuers by spaying/neutering your pets!!  

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals.  Each year, in this country alone, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed because there are not enough homes for them all. An estimated 15 million dogs and cats must be killed each year in this country because no one wants them. They are abandoned, abused, neglected, and unknown by many people.  Many people don't realize they can find a good pet at their local shelter or animal rescue.  

These animals have originally come from a variety of sources such as (but not limited to): puppy (pet) mills, pet stores, backyard breeders and people who no longer have time for them or didn't realize what all was involved in taking care of that kind of pet.  You will find puppies, kittens, adult cats, trained dogs, small animals, big animals, birds and more.  They are available for adoption at your local shelter or animal rescue group, right now!  In many cases there is absolutely nothing wrong with these animals.  The previous owners just could not keep them for whatever reasons.  Many people don't understand that having a pet is a life commitment for the life of that animal.  Some people can no longer keep their pets, due to life changing issues in their own lives.  Help save a life and adopt a pet today.  Many animals don't have much time.  Visit your local animal shelter or rescue today!  

Some of you are probably saying that the animal shelters/rescues are too strict about adopting their pets.  These organizations CARE about their animals and want to make sure that all animals are going to a good forever home!  There are reasons why they have rules and restrictions.  They are not in it for the money.  They are in it for the animals and future parents(owner's) best interest.

Urgent notices are notices that these animals do not have much time and will be euthanized if not adopted soon.  Please help make more room in the shelter by adopting a loving pet today!  This is only a small listing of animals needing help now, please contact your local shelter on how you can help.  Not all shelters list their pets as URGENT!  Also, help the pet overpopulation by spaying/neutering your pets so that their offspring don't end up getting abused, neglected or on Death Row.   

Catahoula Rescue - We are a national 501c3 rescue that place Catahoula Leopard Dogs with people like you who can help change their lives forever. We need you. These dogs come from high kill shelters and we do our best to save them all, but because of overpopulation and back yard breeders, we will never be able to keep up.  We need donations, volunteers and Foster Homes! Greenville, IL Bond County Humane Society  We continue to receive inquiries as to where our "shelter" is located.  Although it is one of our primary goals, we still cannot afford to purchase property and build a shelter so we continue to foster our animals in our homes.
We take our furry kids to the Glen Carbon, IL PetSmart Store on Route 159 on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Saturdays, and to the PETCO Store on Route 159 in Fairview Heights, IL on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month.
